Since TargetX is a web-based service, there's no software for you to install or upgrade. Our service is platform independent so it doesn't matter whether you use Windows, Macintosh, Unix, Linux, etc. Quite simply, eXpress is MIS or IT department independent!

Wish to create your email message but not have it go out until a specified day and time in the near future? You can do that with eXpress.

Your own library

One of our most popular features is the ability to create, save and retrieve messages. This librarying capability allows you to design or compose your message, send tests to everyone who needs to see it, make any necessary changes or adjustments, then save it. When you're ready to broadcast the message, you can query your database for the target audience, then retrieve the message and send. With the eXpress library, you can also store and retrieve any number of letterhead templates.

HTML and rich media emails

If you can create it, we can send it. Create an html design and we'll deliver it as a graphic-rich email to the recipients you choose. eXpress is even capable of sending multipart messages (text and HTML together). Now you can reach everyone on your list — regardless of their viewing preferences.

Your logo on your text emails

With a simple click of the mouse, you can add the visual appeal of a graphically-rich header to your plain text emails — and you don't have to know anything about HTML

Forward-to-a-Friend

We add a link that encourages recipients of your messages to forward them to friends and colleagues. eXpress then allows you to track who received the forwarded messages. The TargetX service also makes it possible for those friends and colleagues to sign up for future email communication from you.

Increase deliverability of your messages

We provide a spam-check feature that helps you avoid the increasing number of filters and blockers that now populate the web. Spam Check reviews your email message and grades it based on content, design and transmission protocols that are thought to be used by spammers. By reducing your spam score, you increase the likelihood that your legitimate, permission-based emails will be delivered.

Always a clean database

If you have data coming from multiple sources (SAT's, sign-up forms, various department databases, etc.), it's easy to have hundreds of duplicate records in your database. TargetX cleans your data and ensures that each email address receives only one message.

Optimized delivery

Messages sent via eXpress are optimized for delivery to the major Internet Service Providers (like Yahoo, AOL and Google). When you send an HTML/multipart message, you can count on us to automatically provide the optimal format. Users who cannot view HTML will see the plain-text version and will be able to click through all URLs in the message. And because we have "whitelist status," your message will bypass initial filters with the best chance of reaching the final destination — the inbox.

Permission-based communication

A generic or custom sign-up web page can be linked to your website so that visitors to your site can "opt in" to email communication from you. Opt-in and opt-out management is fundamental to the permission-based approach of TargetX.

Tracking recipients' response

You can include links in your email messages to encourage recipients to visit particular web pages. The trackable URL feature of eXpress tells you not only how many recipients clicked on each URL, but it also identifies who clicked through. The result is more effective campaign management and faster and more effective follow up.

Specialized activity reports

You can isolate certain broadcasts and see the results in a side-by-side comparison. That gives you insight into the group response to your messages. You can also search for an individual record and see the messages received by that person, and the activity that resulted. By reviewing click-throughs, profile updates, forwards, etc., you'll get insight into the interests and needs of that particular individual.

Up-to-date profiles

Prospective students, alumni and others in your database can update their information on your list simply by clicking on the profile update link included at the bottom of every email you send out. You can also update any individual's information yourself from the client area.

You can easily export your data from our database and into your own at any time. Select from current subscribers, un-subscribers, bouncebacks or everyone on your list. You can even select based on the date the person was added to your database.

Moderated Chats

When you set up a new chat room, you have the ability to decide whether or not you would like the room moderated. The chat moderator directs chat questions to the proper speaker and maintains the continuity of the chat conversation. This can add a more formal tone to a chat event.

You Can Whisper

The whisper feature is provided to allow a "one-on-one" conversation on the side. Students have the benefit of being able to ask questions and get answers in private without missing a minute of the larger chat dialogue.

Canned Messages for Speakers

We provide the ability to create your own "canned messages" that you can view within the chat console. Simply give the message a title and type the answer in the space provided — the answer will be saved for future use and you'll have one less thing to worry about during your chat! Guest speakers will love the ability to select a canned message as a response to frequently asked questions.

Participants Pre-Register

Know who's chatting with you. Chat participants pre-register for the event, so you will always know who participated and be able to follow up with your targeted audience with the click of a mouse. During the chat event, you can also view a profile of each user you are chatting with.

Chat Log

Wish to view the entire chat transcript, even weeks after the event? You can do that easily by viewing the chat log. Simply click a link and the entire chat conversation becomes visible to you, complete with a line-by-line breakdown of who said what. Best of all, the chat log is completely exportable for your own use.

Kick a Participant

We provide a "kick" feature that allows you to remove disruptive participants from the chat session simply by clicking an icon.

Limit the Number of Participants
