An Integrated Solution
Imagine the ease of having all of your interactive admissions activities tied to the same database! eXpressChat is fully integrated with our Email and Event modules, so it’s easy to create and send email invitations to your chat event, track who registers and attends — and follow up with targeted groups. You can also schedule reminder emails to be sent automatically before and/or during your chat event.
A custom look for your chat console can be created with your school colors and logo. Chat participants will recognize your brand and see the chat console as an extension of your school’s website, not a generic third-party vendor.
All the User Features You’re Looking For
The eXpressChat console has all of the features needed to personalize the chat experience. You can change text and background colors, insert web links, see who’s logged in and add the fun emoticons that your “chatters” will certainly be looking for.
When you set up a new chat room, you have the ability to decide whether or not you would like the room moderated. The chat moderator directs chat questions to the proper speaker and maintains the continuity of the chat conversation. This can add a more formal tone to a chat event.
You Can Whisper
The whisper feature is provided to allow a “one-on-one” conversation on the side. Students have the benefit of being able to ask questions and get answers in private without missing a minute of the larger chat dialogue.
Canned Messages for Speakers
We provide the ability to create your own “canned messages” that you can view within the chat console. Simply give the message a title and type the answer in the space provided — the answer will be saved for future use and you’ll have one less thing to worry about during your chat! Guest speakers will love the ability to select a canned message as a response to frequently asked questions.
Know who’s chatting with you. Chat participants pre-register for the event, so you will always know who participated and be able to follow up with your targeted audience with the click of a mouse. During the chat event, you can also view a profile of each user you are chatting with.
Wish to view the entire chat transcript, even weeks after the event? You can do that easily by viewing the chat log. Simply click a link and the entire chat conversation becomes visible to you, complete with a line-by-line breakdown of who said what. Best of all, the chat log is completely exportable for your own use.
Kick a Participant
We provide a “kick” feature that allows you to remove disruptive participants from the chat session simply by clicking an icon.
Limit the Number of Participants
You can limit the number of participants that you would like to be part of each chat session. This will allow you to keep the conversation flowing and better manage traffic in each room.
No Software to Install
Since TargetX is a web-based service, there’s no software for you to install or upgrade. Our service is platform independent so it doesn’t matter whether you use Windows, Macintosh, Unix, Linux, etc. Quite simply, eXpress is MIS or IT department independent!
