CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. — Higher ed CRM firm TargetX has announced the addition of five schools that will use its in-the-cloud CRM system to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their student recruitment and enrollment management.
Among the latest institutions to select TargetX’s Customer Relationship Management technology are:
- Columbus State University in Georgia
- Plymouth State University in New Hampshire
- Seattle University in Washington
- The King’s College in New York
- University of the Pacific in California
TargetX offers both technology tools and professional services to help colleges build relationships with their most important constituencies. Its flagship product is the first CRM built expressly for higher education on the development platform of Salesforce.com, the worldwide leader in CRM and a pioneer in cloud computing.
TargetX’s “Recruitment CRM” helps colleges manage, integrate and automate the process of student recruitment from the first point of contact through enrollment. Among its strengths is built-in electronic communication, including the leading email broadcasting tool in higher education marketing. It is also fully integrated with a powerful event manager and online application.
Both the event and email tools were recently enhanced as part of TargetX’s ongoing commitment to improving the functionality of its products. The company introduced Events v5 at its sixth annual users group conference, held earlier this month in Philadelphia, and it was well received by the more than 150 clients in attendance.
But the biggest announcement at the conference was the availability of “Communities,” an online platform that extends the capabilities of Salesforce’s popular “Chatter” social networking tool. With Communities, colleges will be able to build fully-branded public or private networks that connect any of their constituencies, such as prospective students, alumni and staff.
In addition, TargetX announced it was creating a CRM Community for clients so that they could collaborate with TargetX staff and with other client schools. “It’s a way for them to be much more involved with their colleagues and with us,” said CEO Brian Wm. Niles. “It creates a place for clients to help each other. They can ask questions about the CRM or best practices and the entire community can offer answers. It’s a kind of crowdsourced support for our community of CRM users.”
The availability of Salesforce’s Communities is just the most recent example of how TargetX clients benefit from having their CRM built on the Force.com platform. Enhancements developed by Salesforce can be passed along to users of the TargetX system. “Our connection with Salesforce offers a huge benefit to users of our products,” said Niles. “We’re offering an environment that provides automatic upgrades to our clients, whether the developments come from us or from Salesforce.”
